Abitare is iconic. They’ve been one of the leading architectual and design magazines since it launched in 1961 in Milan, Italy. Having red be it’s primary color throughout all these years, it was essential to keep it. I wanted to emphasize the ITA in Abitare due to it’s roots in Italy. I was able to do so by breaking up the name vertically. A condensed sans-serif pulls in the vertical lines found in a skyscape. These same lines are reaccuring in the layout of the magazine.
